9.15 am - D-Day 80 Commemorative Service at St. Dubricius Church Porlock.
Including Poem For Schools read by pupils of St. Dubricius First School

All are welcome to attend all or part of this aspect of the commemoration
THEN AT PORLOCK WEIR
8.45 pm - (On the beach adjacent the car park - FREE from 8.30pm to Midnight**)
Attendees are invited to bring along a 'Lamp for Peace' (a lantern or lamp)
Porlock's very own 'Friends in Harmony' will be singing a medley of wartime songs
(song-sheets will be available)

'Lest We Forget'
** Due to the historical and community importance of the D-Day landings anniversary, and to support the beacon lightning ceremony, Porlock Manor Estate will waive car park charges on Thursday 6th of June from 8.30pm until midnight.
*** The beacon will be one of hundreds in a coordinated lighting across the UK, Europe and around the world.
